Game Vision Statement

Vision Statement - Frontier Marketing LLC

Introduction:

"Infinity Cave" is a third-person Endless Runner game in which the player has to jump or slide to avoid hazards. This is a genre of gaming that focuses more on fast-paced gaming activities and it also improves your hand-eye coordination skills. It will be a PC game and will be constructed with a gaming development platform called Unity3D (2018). There will be no age restriction as the game will be suitable and accessible to all ages.

Description:

You play as a highly-skilled warrior who just woke up from a sleeping potion in an unfamiliar environment. You find yourself in a never-ending cave with minimum light. You’ve realized that you were captured but now you have a chance to escape, you find the exit and bolt your way out. Now you are trying to escape from a pack of monsters who are chasing you, but it’s difficult to see where you are going. You have to watch out for items or obstacles that may interfere with your path while you are running. You must navigate yourself left and right or jump and slide in order to overcome these obstacles. You have a chance to collect valuable points along the way that could boost up your life span. It's your own responsibility to make the right decisions. You must react fast and be cautious with your decision making as one wrong move can cost you your life.

Key Features:

  • Movement: As you may know already, movement is key in most games. You need movement to interact with the gaming environment. The player will have the ability to move left, right, jump and slide in order to avoid obstacles.
  • Third Person: The player will be able to see his/hers surroundings. This is essential as it leaves time for the player to react to his/hers next move.
  • Collectables: The player will have the ability to collect points or power-ups. This will allow the player to boost their score at the end of the game.
  • Obstacles: The player will have to avoid obstacles such as holes or barriers in the hope of extended gameplay, the player must try to run as far as he/she can go before failing, the further you go the higher the score will be at the end of the game.
  • Instant Kill: When the player fails to overcome an obstacle, he/she will not have the option to revive. The player will “die” immediately, hence “instant kill”, and will have to start from the beginning when the game restarts.

This game will be made with Unity3D, the 2018 version. This game is built to be played on PCs or Apple Macs.

Target Market:

"Infinity Cave" is a family-friendly game. It is intended for all ages (except for newborn babies). The gameplay is designed to be fun and entertaining with the use of mechanics and would be quite suitable for all age groups.

Concept Art:

Here is an example of concept art I found on Google Images. I hope to achieve something similar, if not better to this. I chose this example as I felt that it really captivates what I’m trying to achieve.

Gameplay:

The goal of the game is to keep the player running for the longest possible time. You're trying to beat your high score each time you play, but it won’t be easy as you must overcome obstacles along the way such as holes and barriers. You will also have the chance to collect points along the way, this will then boost your score at the end of the game. To summarise, the further you go, the higher the score will be. The more points you earn, the higher the sum total.

Estimated Resources:

The Unity3D tutorials I found on YouTube are resources that could potentially help me build this game. From watching these tutorials, I found them very promising and achievable. They teach you many functionalities, concepts and mechanics I would need to know in order for my game to function properly. Some mechanics include jumping, sliding and collecting points.

  1. Hey Khang~ It's meh
Your game statement is really good and I really like your game idea. I like the survival feeling in your game where you have to escape from monsters as it gives thrill and excitement to the Players. It is also a good choice where the player have a choice to make its own decisions while playing making the players feel more independent and not having too much restrictions. Having an "Instant Kill" feature to your game makes it more adventurous to your future players as well.

I don't think I need to add advice to your game because it's already well planned. Luckily its restricted for newborn babies hahaha (I actually laughed at this). I wish you good luck creating your first ever game~ it might be challenging but I know you can do itttt! FIGHTING!
